MUNICIPAL NOTICE: SEWER SPILLAGES, RESPONSE TIMES AND OPERATIONAL INTERVENTIONS Mantsopa Local Municipality would like to inform residents across all towns within the municipality that the Municipality is currently experiencing operational challenges affecting sewer spillage response times and general sewer maintenance operations. These challenges are mainly due to fleet and resource constraints, including municipal vehicles and specialised equipment currently undergoing repairs and scheduled maintenance. As a result, response times to sewer-related complaints have been slower than anticipated, and in many instances complaints cannot be resolved within the normal 48-hour turnaround period. The situation is affecting all towns within Mantsopa Local Municipality,

LADYBRAND: WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION
Residents are hereby informed that there will be a temporary water supply interruption on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, due to maintenance works being carried out at Genoa Water Treatment Plant.
Interruption will take place from 08h00 until 14h00.
Residents are advised to store enough water for domestic use during this period. Water supply will be restored after completion of maintenance works.

NOTICE LADYBRAND: DISCOLOURED WATER Residents are hereby informed that some areas may currently experience muddy water coming from household taps. This is due to maintenance work that was recently carried out at Genoa Water Treatment Works. During the process, pumps drew from harmless settled sediments and when pumping restarted muddy water passed through pipeline Our team is currently busy with flushing operations to clear the pipelines and restore normal water quality. Mantsopa Local Municipality (MLM) today met with greater Hobhouse residents at Dipelaneng Public Library Hall as part of their Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Budget Process Plan.
Mantsopa entourage spearheaded by Municipal Manager (MM), Ms. Matiro Mogopodi and Chief Finance Officer (CFO), Mr Takalani Tshukundu presented the Draft 2026/27 IDP and Budget Plan in the presence of Ward 2 Councillor, Justice Lemphane.
They gathered the inputs from the residents in order to align their budget with community needs in terms of Chapter 4 of the Municipal Systems Act.
